Diwali is about to arrive so everyone wants to just relax and have a great time with family and friends. So rather than just getting lazy in your bed, here are some places where you can go and have fun by making a lot of memories to be cherished.

1. Powai Lake

Need a Good place to spend with friends in the evening? Powai Lake is an artificial lake, situated in Mumbai, in the Powai valley. This lake is near to Hiranandani Gardens in Powai. It is a Quite clean, and well maintained place with nice breeze. Lake area is bit chiller than city temparature. You can visit here to relax from your daily routine.

Love Museums and Gardens, well then it’s a perfect place for you. Jijamata Udyaan is a zoo and garden located at Byculla, in the heart of MumbaiIndia. The Albert museum lies in the garden, which displays many local archaeological findings.
The ticket rates are nominal, Rs 5 for adults and Rs 2 for children. The zoo houses 200 animals of 26 species, 450 birds of 45 species and eight reptiles.

Manas Mandir is near Shahapur. This temple is replica of shatrunjay Jain tirth at Palithana. It contains number of different temples. It is very clean and peaceful place.  One must see 2 headed snakes skin, beautifully architecture of temples pillars. While going from Mumbai to Nashik one has to travel 7 to 8 km on left from Highway near Asangaon. This place is about 15 mins from Asangaon railway station and 5 mins from NH3.

4. Sion Hillock Fort

Wanted to roam and spend time with friends but bored of restaurants. The Sion Hillock Fort is a fort in Mumbai. The hillock is situated 500 metres from the Sion railway station. At the base of the hill is the office of the Archaeological Survey of India, and a garden – the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Udyan. Nearby forts include the Riwa Fort and Sewri Fort.

You can sit on stairs, relax, watch birds flying overhead and can get involved in your thoughts.
The garden on top is well maintained and quiet a big one. A small restaurant is there on the top and one can have tea and limited snacks.

Love Shopping then you must visit this place. Crawford Market has been at the center of market life in South Mumbai. It is situated near to the CST Railway Station. A place where you get a variety of wholesale goods at cheap prices, which include foods, beauty product, fruits, bags etc but you should be very good at bargaining.

6. Salsette Island

Wanted to go for a drive but to a nearby place then you can go to Salsette Island, an island in Maharashtra state on India‘s west coast. The metropolis of Mumbai and the cities of Thane and Mira-Bhayandar lie on it. There are three major lakes on the island: Powai LakeTulsi Lake and Vihar Lake. 7. Shri Swaminarayan Mandir

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Mumbai is a Hindu temple and a part of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. It is located in the Bhuleshwar area of Mumbai. The present Mandir has a tri – spire structure and the Murtis installed are that of Laxminarayan Dev, Ghanshyam Maharaj, HariKrishna Maharaj, Gaulokvihari and Radha.

Tikuji-Ni-Wadi is an amusement parkwater park, and a resort near Mumbai and at Thane. It is located at about 15 kilometres from Mumbai. The Water Park has pools and water slides. The amusement park includes go-karts, roller coasters, giant wheels and water park. Additionally, there is a Shiva temple and marriage halls as a part of the resort. The park has also opened a 5D ride and has various activities and fun things for all age groups.

Searching for a picnic spot, well then you got it. Kondeshwar is a small picnic spot near Badlapur town in Thane District. There is a lake named Kondeshwar Lake which is formed by Bhoj Dam. The Kondeshwar Temple is situated near the Kondeshwar Waterfalls. There are many waterfalls around Kondeshwar Temple. There is also a small dam made up stream a river few meters up the Kondeshwar Waterfall.

Kondeshwar is accessible via road. Nearest station is Badlapur East. One can hire a auto till Kondeshwar temple at a price of 50Rs per person. One can also take their private vehicle. No bus service is there. There are small stalls selling water, some cold drinks, maize and biscuits.

Another shopping destination. Colaba Causeway is a long road starting from Regal Theater. The famous Leopold’s Cafe is located on this street along with other fun bars & restaurants. Colaba Causeway is shopping heaven. It is a very long road lined on one side with hundreds of stalls. They sell everything like jewelry, clothes, instruments, Sun Glasses, Shoes, artifacts but you need to know bargaining.

Walkeshwar Temple, also known as the Baan Ganga Temple, is a temple dedicated to the Hindu god, Shiva located in Walkeshwar, near Malabar Hill in South Mumbai.

Titwala is a small town near Kalyan in state of Maharashtra. It is situated at the banks of the seasonal river Kalu. Titwala is famous for the Siddhivinayak Mahaganapati Temple, wherein lakhs of devotees visit this temple during Ganesh Chaturthi. There is a lake surrounded by greenery/park. After darshan, you can enjoy and relax here. Lake has boating. There are couple of small restaurants around.
If you are taking a train, get down at Titwala station (east) and take auto.
