DC Police Just Issued 12 Arrest Warrants, And You Won’t Believe Who’s At The Top Of Their List

You’d think DC police would have enough on their hands – in light of the DC Baseball Shooterviolent Leftist protestors, and high levels of crime – without adding to their list of ‘people we need to arrest.’

It’s already a long list. But the DCPD added to the list on Thursday. And the names they put at the top are far beyond what you would call ‘heavyweight.’

They’re impossible, really. Because they’re bodyguards from Turkey – the personal bodyguards, in fact, of Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. People whom, legally, the DC police can’t actually arrest.

DC cops are trying to arrest thugs who can’t legally be taken. It’s hard to be gutsier than that.

The Daily Caller reports:

The Washington, D.C. Metro police department on Thursday issued arrest warrants for 12 members of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s security detail who brutally beat peaceful protesters outside of the Turkish embassy’s residence last month.

For context, consider the following video:

Now consider the problem – American protestors, people who are used to enjoying the freedoms of the First Amendment, are standing up against the brutalities of Ergodan’s leadership in Turkey.

And it goes without saying that a lot of the protestors have personal ties to Turkey. And they don’t like what Ergodan is doing.

But how do you prosecute a foreign employee, working for a foreign leader, with diplomatic immunity?

Simply put, you don’t.

But you can make it damn harder for them to come back into the United States. And the first step on that road is issuing an arrest warrant.

It is unclear what recourse the U.S. government will have against Erdogan’s security detail in the event that they are arrested. They are likely protected by diplomatic immunity from prosecution. But Newsham said that if they enter the U.S., they will at least be apprehended.

“If they attempt to enter the United States, they will be arrested,” Newsham said of the Turkish security detail.

Trump’s approach to foreign policy has quickly become the stuff of legend, mind you – without warning, he’ll bomb Syria, or make peace with Russia, or cut off Qatar. They’re all morally upright choices, but also unpredictable. The best kind of choices, mind you, for forcing negotiations.

So it should be clear by now that getting on Trump’s bad side is a bad move for our allies. And, assault or not, Turkey is our ally.

Which means that, even if Turkey’s President Erdogan did order the assault on American protestors – and it seems clear he did – he won’t likely be so bold again, when DC cops have arrest warrants for his men.

He doesn’t know when Trump will surprise him, after all, and order the detainment of all his bodyguards.

Turkey, in short, just got put on notice.
