Any quick history of liberal activism will tell you this – liberal courts, and liberal judges, are the Left’s best friend.
You can try to influence votes all you want. You can try to make your own candidates popular. But you’ll never get full power over the American people until you control the courts. It’s the little, day-to-day decisions that are handed down in the courts that most influence American lives.
And when the Left has control of those, there’s not much conservatives can do.
So it’s nice when the lib courts occasionally uphold a conservative law. Like, say, Texas’ new Voter ID law – which, as shocking as it seems, now has the backing of the Court of Appeals.
The Daily Caller reports:
A federal court passed a vote on a Texas voter identification law Tuesday which requires voters to present an accepted photo ID card.
In a two to one majority, a panel of the New Orleans-based 5th Circuit Court of Appeals voted to allow Texas to use the revised voter ID measure — known as SB 5 — for the upcoming November elections.
With this ruling, the court officially stayed a lower judge’s ruling barring Texas from implementing a revised version of its voter identification law.
Read that last part again – the Court of Appeals sided with Texas. With conservatives. And on a hot-button political issue, no less.

That’s the kind of thing that just…doesn’t happen very often.
One look at what the liberal lower court had ordered, though, and you can probably see why Texas wanted IDs to vote.
This vote puts an end to U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos’s prior order, which allowed those without an accepted ID to vote by signing a sworn declaration stating they have a reasonable barrier to obtaining one.
So…if I want to vote in Texas…all I have to do is raise my hand, say ‘I can’t get an ID,’ and then check a ballot?
It’s hard to state just how important this little victory is. If liberalism is to be pushed back and destroyed, it needs to happen in the courts. And it’s going to happen through tiny, minute victories. One at a time.
And sometimes, one big one.
