Obama-Biden Feud Resurfaces as Fmr President Diagnosed With ‘Aggressive’ Bone Cancer: ‘Performance for the Masses’
Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones, according to a statement released by his office.
The devastating health news comes amid swirling rumors of tension between Biden and his former boss Barack Obama.
Obama offered what appeared to be heartfelt support to his former deputy, writing: “Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace.”
“We pray for a fast and full recovery.”
Obama’s message was shared by his wife Michelle, who notably added no personal words of support, fueling long standing rumors of a feud between her and Biden.
Political insiders have long speculated about tension between the former first lady and the Biden family, per reports.
Insiders claim Michelle Obama has been angry with the Bidens over their treatment of her close friend Kathleen Buhle, Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, who has reportedly been estranged from the Biden family since her separation from Hunter in 2017.
The relationship between the Obamas and Biden reportedly deteriorated further after Biden’s poor debate performance against Trump in June 2024.
Rumors circulated that Obama quietly supported efforts to find a replacement candidate, leaving Biden feeling betrayed despite their previously close relationship during the eight years Biden served as Obama’s vice president.
Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced Biden on the 2024 ticket, issued what certain critics called a lackluster response to the diagnosis.
“Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis,” she wrote.
“We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time.”
The brief statement came after months of reported tension between Biden and his former running mate.
Harris continued: “Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.”
The statement struck many observers as formulaic and lacking personal warmth, the Daily Mail reported.
The Biden-Harris relationship reportedly soured after she lost to Trump in both the popular vote and electoral college.
Insiders suggest Biden was quietly seething about being pressured to drop out of the race on July 21, believing he could have defeated Trump himself.
One Harris campaign adviser dramatically told the Washington Post: “It’s almost Shakespearean that Biden didn’t just kill his own campaign, he killed hers, too.”
The Daily Mail highlighted that critics blasted Harris’s social media response to Biden’s diagnosis.
“Are you even serious? You stabbed this man in the back and then threw him to the wolves,” one online commenter wrote.
Another observer noted: “Such public displays of empathy… a performance for the masses. It is as if genuine concern is a rare commodity that must be theatrically displayed. Perhaps true compassion starts where the cameras end.”
The outlet further noted that the grave diagnosis comes just one week after reports emerged that a “small nodule” was found on Biden’s prostate requiring “further evaluation.”
Medical professionals had initially flagged the issue, prompting immediate concern within Biden’s inner circle.
Biden’s office confirmed he “was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms” last week.
The statement offered no details about when the former president first began experiencing these symptoms or what prompted the initial medical check.
The statement revealed the severity of the diagnosis: “On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”
The metastasis to bone tissue represents a significant escalation in the seriousness of Biden’s condition.
Medical experts classify prostate cancers using the “Gleason score” to measure how cancerous cells compare to normal cells.
Biden’s score of nine indicates his cancer is among the most aggressive forms of the disease, generating concerns about his long-term prognosis.
Despite the serious diagnosis, Biden’s office stated that the cancer appears to be hormone sensitive and might be effectively managed with various treatments.
The statement offered no timeline for treatment or specifics about what medical interventions are planned.
Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery.

This isn’t Biden’s first battle with cancer.
In February 2023, he had a cancerous lesion removed from his chest, and before taking office, he underwent Mohs surgery to remove several non-melanoma skin cancer spots.
These previous cancer battles have now taken a more serious turn with this latest diagnosis.
Cancer has tragically touched the Biden family before.
Biden’s son Beau died at age 46 in 2015 after being diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, the most aggressive type of brain cancer.
Biden has previously claimed his son’s cancer resulted from exposure to military burn pits during Beau’s service in Iraq, though this connection remains disputed by some medical experts.
In 2022, Biden reignited the Cancer Moonshot initiative, which he first led as Obama’s vice president. The ambitious program aims to cut cancer death rates in half by 2047 and improve the lives of cancer patients.
