Dan Bongino Says Epstein Suicide Caught on Tape; Footage to Be Made Public
More than five years after the death of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, FBI leadership is standing firm: Epstein took his own life.
Speaking publicly for the first time about the investigation, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino revealed on Fox News that surveillance footage exists showing Epstein’s final moments, and it could soon be released to the public.
“He killed himself,” Bongino stated flatly. “I’ve seen the whole file. He killed himself.”
Bongino’s comments come amid continued public suspicion over Epstein’s death inside the Metropolitan Correctional Center in August 2019.
The convicted s*x offender, who was facing federal charges related to a human trafficking ring involving underage girls, was discovered unresponsive in his cell under circumstances that fueled years of controversy.
Official reports declared his death a suicide by hanging, yet multiple failures in jail protocol, broken cameras and sleeping guards left many Americans unconvinced.
For critics, Epstein’s extensive ties to high-profile figures — including politicians, royalty and celebrities — raised suspicions that his death may have been intended to silence him.
Calls for transparency have only grown louder in recent years as details surrounding his incarceration continue to raise red flags.
Bongino’s appearance, however, may mark the FBI’s most forceful pushback yet against theories of foul play, according to Trending Politics.
The bureau’s top leadership insists that the case is closed — not because of pressure, but because of the facts.
FBI Director Kash Patel echoed his deputy’s conclusion in a separate appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures,” stating, “Listen, they have a right to their opinion.”
“As someone who has worked as a public defender, as a prosecutor, who’s been in that prison system, who’s been in the Metropolitan Detention Center, who’s been in segregated housing, you know a suicide when you see one, and that’s what that was.”
Despite the bureau’s insistence, Epstein’s family remains unconvinced.
Mark Epstein, the billionaire’s brother, has publicly challenged the ruling and questioned the legitimacy of the FBI’s investigation.
He claims the agency lacked access to the full autopsy report and other forensic evidence.
While Bongino and Patel both acknowledged the public’s right to question official narratives, they emphasized that no credible evidence exists to suggest Epstein was murdered.
Both officials stated that if any new information were to surface, the bureau would remain open to a reassessment. Until then, the agency maintains the suicide ruling is final.
Still, frustrations are building among many Americans, particularly supporters of President Donald Trump, who believe the FBI has not been transparent, TP reports.
Some argue that too many irregularities remain unexplained, and fear that a broader conspiracy has been buried to protect influential individuals.
Adding to that distrust is the history of the Department of Justice and its handling of high-profile cases.
Critics have pointed to what they view as a pattern of selective accountability and a lack of public access to critical information.
“The public is tired of hearing, ‘trust us,’” said one conservative commentator on X. “We want the footage. Release it.”
Others pointed out discrepancies in the announcement.
“I thought cameras were broken?” wrote another user.
Despite the skepticism, Bongino maintained that video evidence of Epstein’s suicide does exist and is expected to be released—though no official date has been announced.
The decision to reveal the footage may be the FBI’s final attempt to shut down conspiracy theories for good — or it could reignite questions if any inconsistencies remain.
Until that happens, Americans on both sides of the aisle continue to demand full transparency.
For now, the FBI’s message is simple: the investigation is over, but the court of public opinion is still very much in session.
