Epstein Lawyer Responds to Musk’s Claims Involving Trump

Epstein Lawyer Dismisses Musk’s Claim That Trump Was Involved in the Sex Trafficker’s Crimes

Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyer has denied Elon Musk’s recent claim that President Donald Trump is named in secret FBI files related to Epstein’s crimes.

In a provocative social media post yesterday, Musk suggested that Trump is withholding these files because they would incriminate him.

David Schoen, who represented Epstein shortly before his death, firmly rejected Musk’s assertion. He said Epstein told him directly that he had no damaging information about President Trump.

“I was hired as Epstein’s criminal defense lawyer nine days before he died,” Schoen said. “He sought my advice for months before that. I can say definitively he had no information that would hurt President Trump.”

Schoen added, “I specifically asked him.”

Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s close associate and currently serving a 20-year prison sentence, is awaiting a response from the Trump administration on her appeal for clemency.

On Friday, Solicitor General John Sauer asked for more time to consider Maxwell’s appeal. She remains the only Epstein associate in prison for their roles in his sex-trafficking network.

Maxwell’s legal team and family have yet to make a direct appeal to Trump, per the Daily Mail.

Former Trump attorney Alan Dershowitz told DailyMail.com that such an appeal would be appropriate.

Dershowitz argued Maxwell’s 20-year sentence is excessive and said she should receive clemency, including a commutation or pardon.

“She was partly a victim of Epstein. His death made her a prime target and led to a harsh sentence. Some executive clemency is warranted,” Dershowitz said.

The remarks follow Trump’s recent pardons of reality TV couple Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022.

Maxwell’s family is reportedly considering whether to petition Trump for clemency, given his past social connections with Epstein and Maxwell.

A family insider said, “It’s not a bad idea to ask Trump for a pardon. He knew her and probably has views about her guilt or innocence.”

Maxwell, 63, was convicted in 2021 on five counts related to sex trafficking, for helping Epstein abuse underage girls worldwide.

She is serving her sentence at FCI Tallahassee in Florida, with a projected release date in 2037.

Maxwell lost an appeal in 2024 and recently petitioned the US Supreme Court, claiming protection under a 2007 non-prosecution agreement covering Epstein’s associates.

Epstein, who ran his trafficking operation from locations in Manhattan, Florida, and the Virgin Islands, died by suicide in jail in 2019.

His death shifted the prosecutorial focus onto Maxwell, who now faces the full weight of legal consequences.

Dershowitz said, “She became the scapegoat for Epstein. If he were alive, he’d be the center of prosecution, and she would have a lesser role.”

Maxwell had close social ties with Trump in the 1990s and early 2000s, attending events in Palm Beach and Manhattan, including at Mar-a-Lago.

Photos exist of Maxwell, Trump, and First Lady Melania Trump together at high-profile events before her 2005 marriage.

Despite the social links, Trump has publicly distanced himself from Epstein since the latter’s arrest, denying prior knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.

Maxwell’s role in Epstein’s operation included recruiting vulnerable girls from West Palm Beach to provide “massages” at Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion, where abuse occurred.

One victim, Virginia Giuffre, claimed Maxwell approached her at Mar-a-Lago in the mid-2000s and subjected her to years of abuse.

Giuffre later alleged powerful associates, including Prince Andrew, abused her. Andrew has denied these claims but reportedly paid a settlement in 2022.

Tragically, Giuffre died by suicide on May 1 this year after struggling to rebuild her life in Australia.
