Trump Signs Monumental EO in Bold Move

Trump Signs EO to Establish National Center for Homeless Veterans Using Funds Previously Allocated for Housing for Illegal Immigrants

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday to establish a national center for homeless veterans using funds previously allocated for housing and services for illegal immigrants.

The executive order mandates the creation of the National Center for Warrior Independence. The facility will be located on the Veterans Affairs campus in West Los Angeles.

Los Angeles has an estimated 3,000 homeless veterans, the highest number in any U.S. city. This group represents roughly 10% of the nation’s homeless veteran population.

The White House stated that the new center will assist veterans in rebuilding their lives and accessing the services to which they are entitled.

Funds previously used for housing illegal immigrants will now go toward building and maintaining the center, according to the administration.

The center is expected to provide housing, substance abuse treatment, and job support to promote self-sufficiency among veterans, as Fox News reported.

The goal is to accommodate up to 6,000 homeless veterans at the facility by the year 2028.

The executive order also directs the secretary of housing and urban development to allocate housing vouchers specifically for homeless veterans.

In addition, the order calls on the Department of Veterans Affairs to implement reforms aimed at restoring accountability within the agency.

The VA is instructed to take disciplinary action against individuals guilty of misconduct and to review prior reinstatements made under the Biden administration, including the repayment of back wages.

Veterans will also be given more access to care through the expansion of appointment availability at Veterans Health Administration facilities.

These changes include longer clinic hours, weekend availability, and virtual healthcare options to reduce wait times.

The order further instructs the VA to conduct a feasibility study for expanding the Manchester VA Medical Center in New Hampshire into a full-service hospital.

The White House emphasized that President Trump believes in showing appreciation for veterans and that they deserve proper care and support from the federal government.

The announcement comes shortly after news that Trump will host a military parade on June 14 to honor both veterans and active-duty personnel.

The parade will also celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army.

The National Center for Warrior Independence is part of a broader initiative by the Trump administration to prioritize veterans’ needs through federal policy.

This executive order marks a shift in the use of federal funds, emphasizing support for American veterans over services for non-citizens.

Veterans across the country are expected to benefit from the expanded care options and increased access to essential resources.

The initiative underscores Trump’s ongoing focus on military and veteran affairs during his presidency.
