Newsom’s Staggering Confession to Trudeau Caught on Camera

Though They Thought No One was Watching, Gavin Newsom’s Staggering Confession to Justin Trudeau is Caught on Camera

A lip reading expert says she caught California Governor Gavin Newsom doing something few in his party would dare — privately praising President Donald Trump — and she says it happened right in the middle of a World Cup soccer match.

The moment unfolded during the United States’ group stage clash against Paraguay, where Newsom and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were filmed in what appeared to be a tense, hushed conversation.

Nicola Hickling, a lip reading professional retained by the Daily Mail, analyzed the footage and delivered a finding that is turning heads across the political spectrum.

Hickling says Trudeau opened the conversation with a candid admission, saying: “Listen, I can tell you one thing I’ve learned from it.”

The former Canadian leader then continued: “I was never really in the primary. You can’t see it because they’re rivalries, you can’t. It’s been four months.”

What “four months” referred to remains a matter of speculation. Trump ordered military strikes against Iran on February 28 — placing that action roughly four months before the match took place.

The exchange then took a turn. Newsom positioned himself close to Trudeau and whispered something directly into his ear — turning his back to the camera entirely, obscuring his lips from view.

Whatever he said, it appeared to land. Trudeau clasped his hands together, and both men then seemed to offer words that no one in the Democratic Party is likely to be thrilled about.

Hickling interpreted Trudeau’s follow-up as: “Yeah, Trump can beat them, but there’s no way, no way out of it.”

Then came the headline moment. According to the lip reader’s analysis, Newsom said: “He will. He will survive. He is a far better president than any of them.”

The Daily Mail reached out to the governor’s office for a response. His press officer did not dispute the substance — instead firing back with sarcasm: “Is your lip reader blind? Hahahahaha.”

Newsom was at the match with his son Hunter and appeared relaxed throughout the game.

Trudeau, meanwhile, was drawing heat of his own — not from Americans, but from Canadians furious that their former prime minister chose a USA match over Canada’s own World Cup opener happening the same day.

Trudeau took to social media to explain himself, saying he was there in a personal capacity to watch his girlfriend, pop star Katy Perry, sing the national anthem for the American team. “Sometimes supportive boyfriend duties call. But you know who I’m rooting for to take the Cup,” he wrote.

The stadium appearance took on a different dimension just days later when Newsom dropped a bombshell of his own — announcing publicly that he and his wife Jennifer are under active investigation by Trump’s Department of Justice.

Newsom, widely regarded as a likely 2028 presidential contender, wasted no time framing the probe as a political weapon. He said the DOJ “have not found a crime — they are simply trying to find one,” and accused Trump of targeting him specifically because of his White House ambitions.

“He isn’t coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for president,” the governor said.

Even under federal scrutiny, Newsom kept his sights locked on Vice President JD Vance.

After Vance appeared as a guest co-host on Fox News’ The Five, journalist Aaron Rupar posted footage online joking that the VP was “auditioning to be a Fox host apparently.”

Newsom, 58, seized on it immediately: “Makes sense. JD is going to need a job in 2028 since he won’t be president.”

He followed up with footage of Vance’s appearance on The View, writing: “JD Vance can’t even defend Trump’s economy with a straight face. Maybe that’s because Americans are getting crushed by it. Gas. Groceries. Inflation. ALL UP! These clowns are in over their heads.”
