Trump Eviscerates Fox News Host With Brutal Two-Word Insult

Trump Slams Fox News Host Shannon Beam for Failing to Defend His Administration’s Immigration Record

President Donald Trump criticized Fox News anchor Shannon Bream on Friday after claiming television commentators have failed to defend his administration’s immigration enforcement record against comparisons with former President Barack Obama.

In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump declared his administration achieved the highest average daily arrest rate by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection, along with the highest average daily detention and final removal figures of any president.

Trump argued that commentators who compare his immigration enforcement numbers with those of the Obama administration were presenting a misleading picture.

“It would be nice if people like ‘Milk Toast’ Shannon Bream, and others, would put up a little fight,” Trump wrote. “Just a little.”

It was unclear whether Trump’s use of “Milk Toast” was intended as a nickname or a misspelling of “milquetoast,” a term commonly used to describe someone viewed as timid or unassertive.

Minutes before mentioning Bream, Trump posted that his administration had removed significantly more people who were in the country illegally than the Obama administration, while dismissing comparisons involving former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden.

The president did not provide specific immigration statistics or additional evidence supporting the claims made in his social media posts.

Trump also referenced what he described as the highest average daily rate of apprehensions and removals, while acknowledging he was “not necessarily thrilled” to discuss the topic because it did not “sound nice.”

It was not immediately clear why Trump singled out Bream. According to a public transcript, the Fox News Sunday anchor and the network’s chief legal correspondent appeared Friday morning on “America’s Newsroom” to discuss a recent Supreme Court decision involving Temporary Protected Status.

The transcript of Bream’s appearance did not include any discussion comparing Trump’s immigration record with Obama’s, and Trump did not identify a specific statement that prompted his criticism.

The latest remarks continue a pattern of public criticism Trump has directed toward Bream in recent years despite Fox News generally being viewed as favorable to his administration.

In May 2024, Trump criticized Bream on Truth Social after she discussed his New York criminal case, calling her “naïve” and later describing her as “anti-MAGA.”

Earlier this year, he also criticized her program as “not very hard hitting” and accused her of allowing Democratic lawmakers to make unchallenged political arguments during interviews, per the Daily Mail.

Bream is scheduled to interview Democratic Rep. Jake Auchincloss during this weekend’s edition of Fox News Sunday, which is being broadcast from the Great American State Fair on the National Mall in Washington.

Neither Bream nor Fox News immediately responded publicly to Trump’s latest comments. The exchange marks the latest example of the president publicly criticizing members of media organizations he believes have failed to defend his administration’s policies or challenge opposing viewpoints.
