Mayim Bialik Fired From ‘Jeopardy’ as Show Responds With Statement

Mayim Bialik was fired as the host of Jeopardy! and will be replaced by her co-host, Ken Jennings.

The 48-year-old Blossom actress revealed she was recently informed by Sony that she will ‘no longer be hosting’ the syndicated version of the game show.

She took to Instagram on Friday to confirm rumors since she had not been seen on the show since her last appearance in May.

‘As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news,’ Bialik began in her lengthy caption.

‘Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!,’ she continued.

‘I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family,’ she wrote.

‘For all of you who have supported me through this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz show, thank you,’ she said.

Shortly after, Jeopardy! released their own announcement on Instagram, confirming Bialik’s cohost, Ken Jennings, will be the sole host of the upcoming season of the syndicated game show.

‘Mayim Bialik has announced she will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!,’ the statement read.

They confirmed that Jennings will be taking over all of the hosting duties for consistency.

‘We made the decision to have one host for the syndicated show next season to maintain continuity for our viewers,’ it continued. ‘And Ken Jennings will be the sole host for syndicated Jeopardy!.

‘We are truly grateful for all of Mayim’s contributions to Jeopardy!, and we hope to continue to work with her on primetime specials.’

Bialik first started hosting the show in August 2021 and had been hired to be one of the replacements for longtime host Alex Trebek — who was a fan-favorite of the show from its 1984 revival until his tragic death.
