Watch: Briefing Room Cracks Up When Peter Doocy Accidentally Slips Up On Biden’s Name

During a recent White House press briefing, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy made a verbal slip-up, causing the room to experience a brief moment of mirth in the otherwise staid event.

Doocy, in the course of his professional questioning, accidentally merged President Joe Biden’s name with that of former President Barack Obama.

“Is President Obiden … is President Biden … okay?” Doocy asked as the room filled with laughter.

This question was directed to National Security spokesperson John Kirby. Doocy’s question was in the context of an alleged difference of opinion between Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden about the Gaza war.

Kirby, in his composed and unflappable manner, responded to the situation with a simple, “Yes, he is.”

However, Doocy, maintaining his composure and focus, continued his professional line of questioning.

“Yeah, is he … thank goodness … Is President Biden okay that people from the vice president’s team are going to the press with this?”

Kirby, in his response, spoke highly of Vice President Harris. He described her as a “real teammate” and a “significant leader” who is “candid, forthright, educated, smart and willing to tell him exactly what she thinks.” He also mentioned that he would not discuss the personal counsel and guidance she provides to the president.

Vice President Harris has seen increased media attention in light of recent events. She has been reported to be pushing President Biden to be more openly sympathetic to Palestinian civilians in the light of the U.S. government’s support for Israel in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She is also said to be in favor of a more forceful role for the U.S. in seeking a long-term peace and a two-state solution.
