Kari Lake Surprises Ailing Father of 12 Who Urged Family: Help Trump ‘Save America’
Tim Krachenfels, a dedicated supporter of former President Donald Trump and the head of Iowa’s largest single family of volunteers for Trump’s campaign who is currently hospitalized, was recently visited in his sickness by U.S. Senate hopeful Kari Lake.
Lake, a staunch ally of Trump from Arizona, made her way to Krachenfels’ bedside at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center on January 13, 2024. This visit came after learning about Krachenfels’ illness and his family’s unwavering commitment to Trump’s campaign.
During her visit, Lake engaged in a personal conversation with Krachenfels, asking him to share more about his situation. Following their talk, she offered a prayer for him.
“It was a real heartfelt prayer about our country, about my family, about our country, about President Trump. And it was just really kind of a really special time; it was encouraging,” Krachenfels told The Epoch Times.
Prior to this visit, Lake had been interacting with news reporters and volunteers at the Trump campaign office in Urbandale. It was here that Krachenfels’ family, including his wife and their six oldest children, ages 15 to 22, had been actively volunteering. They were making phone calls in support of President Trump, marking them as the family with the most volunteers in Iowa for Trump’s campaign.
The connection between Lake and Krachenfels was facilitated by Jayce Krachenfels, the eldest son of the family. He informed Lake about his father’s condition, which led to her visit to the hospital. Terra Krachenfels, Tim’s wife, noted the positive impact of Lake’s visit on her husband’s spirits.
“It’s amazing how just something simple like that lifts your spirits and can help you heal,” she said. “That is the way the Trump campaign is, though. I feel like they are a big family.”
The Krachenfels family had been in attendance at President Trump’s Fox News town hall in Des Moines on January 10. Following the event, Tim Krachenfels’ health deteriorated, leading to his hospitalization. Despite his condition, he urged his children to continue their volunteer work for Trump’s campaign, emphasizing the importance of their mission.
Lake, during her visit to the Urbandale campaign office, expressed her admiration for the volunteers’ dedication.
“There’s no place on the planet I’d rather be than right here in Iowa at this amazing monumental moment in history,” she said. “As I look out at these beautiful people … it brings a tear to my eye that this many Americans — with a lot going on in their lives — are here on a Saturday morning doing everything they can to make sure we save our country.”
