Pelosi Floats Theory That Putin Has ‘Something Financial’ on Trump During Interview
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently proposed a theory in an interview with MSNBC host Jen Psaki, suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin might be leveraging “something financial” over former President Donald Trump during a conversation on Jen Psaki’s show, where Pelosi initiated the discussion about Trump’s apparent deference to Putin.
“What does he have on Donald Trump that he has to constantly be catering to Putin? Telling Putin go into these countries, NATO countries,” Pelosi mused.
Jen Psaki then inquired further into Pelosi’s thoughts, asking, “What do you think? We’re all wondering this question, Speaker Pelosi, what do you think Putin has on him? I mean, it sure seems like something, as you’ve said a few times, given that he refuses to criticize him, that he seems to be a fanboy of him. Are you worried?”
Pelosi elaborated on her concerns, emphasizing the importance of preventing Trump from returning to the White House in any capacity. She criticized Trump’s lack of respect for the presidency and his oath of office. Pelosi’s remarks then shifted to reflect on Presidents’ Day and the legacy of President Abraham Lincoln, highlighting Lincoln’s dedication to unifying the country.
“I talked about George Washington, it’s also Presidents’ Week for Abraham Lincoln,” Pelosi said. She recounted a story about Lincoln’s assassination and the message “one country, one destiny” that was embroidered in the coat he wore on the night he died, a coat made for his second inauguration. “He gave his life to unify our country.”
Returning to the topic of Trump, Pelosi expressed her view that Trump’s recent comments about Alexei Navalny, a Russian opposition leader, demonstrate a lack of values and possibly financial desperation.
“Now we have someone who had the honor of serving in the White House, didn’t consider it an honor, didn’t consider his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution, and on this week speaking out the way he did about [Alexei] Navalny shows you that he is a person without values. He looks like he is going to be a person without dollars either, but the values are what concern us,” Pelosi said.
“I don’t know what he has on him, but I think it’s probably financial, I think it’s probably financial — either something financial or something on the come — something that he expects to get.”
