Lauren Boebert’s Son Arrested, Faces More Than 20 Charges

Rep. Lauren Boebert’s Son Faces 22 Charges After Alleged Thefts

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert’s oldest son found himself in legal trouble as he was apprehended by the Rifle Police Department on Tuesday for his involvement in a “string of vehicle trespasses and property thefts,” as reported by the authorities.

Tyler Jay Boebert, 18, was taken into custody around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, as disclosed by the department in a Facebook post later that same evening.

He is currently facing multiple charges, including criminal possession of ID documents belonging to various victims, conspiracy to commit a felony and “over 15 additional misdemeanor and petty offenses,” according to statements from the department.

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office’s online jail records reveal that Tyler Boebert is confronting a total of 22 charges, which also encompass contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

He remains in custody with no bond information provided at this time.

“This is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time,” the police statement said. “All suspects are considered innocent until adjudicated guilty in a court of law.”

Westword reports Boebert received a “careless driving causing bodily injury” ticket in 2022 after flipping his father’s SUV into a Garfield County creek bed, which resulted in injury to his 19-year-old friend.

Following a plea deal, Tyler Boebert was mandated to participate in an “Alive at 25” driver awareness program.

Despite prosecutors reducing the case to a “defective vehicle for headlights” ticket, Boebert failed to appear in court in April 2023.

This marks the second instance this year where a member of the Republican representative’s family has encountered legal issues.

Earlier this month, the Republican congresswoman secured a restraining order against her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, amid allegations of threatening behavior directed at both her and himself over a span of 14 months.

Following his arrest on assault charges, Jayson Boebert was released on bail from the Garfield County jail. This occurred just one day after he asserted that Lauren Boebert had punched him in the face during an incident of domestic violence.
