Dems Ripped Over Leaked Memo That Says ‘Quiet Part Out Loud’ About Registration

Democrat Leaked Memo Admits ‘Quiet Part Out Loud’ After Panic About Key Strategy Helping Trump

Democrats nationwide are growing increasingly worried about the level of support former President Donald Trump is garnering from traditionally reliable demographics.

Donors are embroiled in disputes over an internal memo that raises doubts about whether the party should continue using nonprofits to register unregistered voters, fearing it could inadvertently aid Trump.

An internal memo revealing concern within the Democratic Party regarding its “nonpartisan” voter registration initiatives potentially benefiting Trump is sparking criticism from those who argue that the registration efforts were a “partisan scam” from the outset.

“Indeed, if we were to blindly register nonvoters and get them on the rolls, we would be distinctly aiding Trump’s quest for a personal dictatorship,” the memo explained. This assertion casts doubt on the longstanding Democrat voter registration drive, which has historically yielded favorable outcomes in previous elections.

The memo suggests a shift in strategy, one where Democrats should concentrate their registration efforts exclusively on “specific, heavily pro-Biden populations.”

The Washington Post elaborated that “the rise in Trump support among nonregistered voters has clashed with a longstanding Democratic policy goal of expanding the voter rolls.”

Several political analysts contend that the Washington Post article underscores how some Democrat registration initiatives, ostensibly labeled as non-partisan, are actually geared toward registering Democrats exclusively.

“From a nonpartisan perspective, we should help close the turnout gap, which means if Latinos, Blacks and Asian Americans are registered at lower rates, then we need to increase registration,” Biden pollster Matt Barreto told WaPo.

Jason Snead, executive director of Honest Elections Project, remarked to Fox News Digital, “Left-wing strategists inadvertently admitted the true nature of their ‘non-partisan’ left-wing voter registration efforts, which have always been highly partisan operations designed to aid Democrats.”

“This acknowledgment raises serious questions about other programs the left claims are ‘non-partisan,’ including President Biden’s executive order utilizing taxpayers’ funds to mobilize liberal voters,” he added. “The media should take note of and remember this rare moment of candor from the left the next time they decry ‘voter suppression.’”

Investigative researcher Parker Thayer shared a response to the report on X, saying, “Democratic donors are now receiving memos advising them to cease funding voter registration nonprofits because unregistered voters tend to favor Trump. It’s all a partisan scam.”

The revelation of the internal memo has ignited debate within Democratic circles, highlighting the complexities and controversies surrounding voter registration efforts in the current political landscape.

The memo also comes as recent polling data suggests Biden is hemorrhaging support from key demographics that historically have been registered by Democrats and then voted for Democrats.

Some Democrats pushed back in the WaPo story on the idea that registration efforts need to be re-tooled due to Trump’s strong polling numbers with reliable Democratic voters.

“If you’d ask me what keeps me up at night, it’s not that young people of color are going to defect to the Republican camp,” Maria Teresa Kumar, president and CEO of Voto Latino, said.

“My worst case scenario is that memos like this create a disinvestment — and that makes our job very hard,” she continued, adding that the memo shows “implicit bias that the mainstream folks have internalized” and that it “does a disservice because it’s trying to pit communities against each other in ways that are not helpful.”
