A post on X purports to show a California public high school teacher in a hostile tirade against her students, singling out “privileged white boys” for derision.
The video was shared on X by Michael Oxford, a candidate running for California State Senate, who did not provide a source for the clip.
“This is Aptos High School in Aptos California. The teacher singles out her white students to remind them how privilege they are,” Oxford says, identifying the site of the clip as a high school in the Santa Cruz area.
The brief clip indeed appears to show the teacher’s racially charged outburst against a particular boy, who is addressed by name.
“You guys always wanna push it. You privileged white boys want to push it to the end. No. Knock it off,” the teacher says.
The video was seemingly filmed by a student in the classroom, who appeared bewildered by the outburst, captioning the video “Ms shook actually crazy.”
Oxford contends that this outburst is not unusual in the California educational system and condemns the teacher for her purported racism.
“This is a normal thing in California schools,” Oxford added. “Even though she’s white, this is still racism.”
The incident later caught the attention of Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who responded to Oxford’s post on X with his own commentary about the situation.
“This teacher should be fired for such aggressive racism,” Musk wrote in his reply.
