Candace Owens Embraces Catholicism

Former Daily Wire commentator Candace Owens says she has at last “made the decision to go home.”

In other words, Owens is now Catholic.

Owens wrote on X, “There is of course so much more that went into this decision and that I plan to share in the future.”

“But for now, praise be to God for His gentle, but relentless guiding of my heart toward Truth.”

“I do not fear,” Owens declared just after quoting the Bible’s Isaiah 41:10. “Christ is King.”

Owens has hinted towards her conversation in the past, perhaps most notably when she said “Almost there,” in response to an X user asking, “Does anyone know if @RealCandaceO is Catholic?”

News of Owens’ conversion comes at a time when she has received a lot of backlash for her pro-Christian rhetoric.

PJ Media contributor and Jewish Rabbi Michael Barclay, for instance, said in April that when people like Owens say “‘Christ is King,’ … what they really say on a certain level is kill the Jew.”

Barclay went far to attack Owens as an antisemite, even claiming at one point that she “publicly said that Hitler was ‘OK’” despite there being zero evidence she had ever made such a claim.

Owens has consistently maintained that “Christ is King” is in no way antisemitic, and has said it is “honestly embarrassing” to see ‘Christians engage in “leftist logic” to explain how the phrase draws offense.

Owens’ husband, George Farmer, is himself Catholic.

Farmer notably debated the topic of Catholicism vs. Protestantism with conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey last year. Owens was a Protestant at the time.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
