Gay Biden Revelation Goes Viral

Jill Biden Paid $35K to Host a Gay Romance Series But Was Ultimately Outbid

Former First Lady Jill Biden made a surprise appearance at a New York City fundraiser Thursday night and reportedly bid $35,000 for a chance to appear on the hit HBO hockey romance series Heated Rivalry, but lost after other bidders drove the price far higher.

Biden attended the annual fundraising dinner for the New York City LGBT Community Center, where entertainment-themed auction items were offered to raise money for the organization.

One of the most talked-about auction items was a walk-on role in Heated Rivalry, a popular series based on the Game Changers books by Rachel Reid. The show follows the long-running secret romance between fictional professional hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.

According to reports, Biden stunned guests by entering the bidding and offering $35,000 for the opportunity to appear on the series.

Her bid did not hold.

Two separate bidders were ultimately selected as winners, contributing a combined $250,000 to the center, far surpassing Biden’s offer.

Biden responded publicly afterward with humor.

“Guess I won’t be heading to the cottage after all, but it was worth a shot!” she wrote on X.

The comment referenced a key scene from the first season finale in which one of the main characters invites the other to his lakeside Canadian cottage, where their relationship becomes official.

Biden also praised the event itself.

“What a wonderful evening supporting @LGBTCenterNYC,” she added online.

The former first lady’s appearance drew attention because it marked another step in her expanding public schedule following the end of President Joe Biden’s administration.

Joe Biden did not attend the fundraiser.

Earlier in the week, both Bidens were present at a portrait unveiling at Syracuse University School of Law. Reports also indicate the couple has several joint appearances planned throughout April.

Jill Biden is also preparing for a book release this summer.

Her memoir, View from the East Wing, is scheduled for publication on June 2, followed by an eight-city promotional tour that includes stops in New York, Washington, Miami, Nashville, Philadelphia, Ann Arbor, and Boston, per the Daily Mail.

The fundraiser result became notable less because Biden lost the auction and more because of the unusually high final bids, suggesting the series has become a major cultural draw.

Heated Rivalry, which first aired in late 2025, quickly developed a large audience and is expected to begin production on its second season in August.

For Biden, the night served as both a charity appearance and a headline-grabbing pop culture moment.

For organizers, it delivered something more important: a quarter-million dollars raised through one auction item alone.
