Hogan Death Bombshell Unveiled

Hulk Hogan’s Cause of Death Finally Revealed a Year Later

Florida authorities have officially concluded that professional wrestling icon and actor Hulk Hogan died of natural causes, closing a nearly year-long investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The Clearwater Police Department announced Friday that its investigation into Hogan’s July 24, 2025 death found no evidence of foul play or criminal wrongdoing. The wrestling legend, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, was 71 years old when he died after suffering a medical emergency at his Clearwater, Florida home.

According to a 72-page investigative report released by authorities, detectives reviewed witness statements, medical records, surveillance footage from inside Hogan’s residence and conducted a thorough examination of all available evidence before reaching their conclusion.

“Following an exhaustive review of the statements, medical records, surveillance footage from within the residence, and a visual inspection of Mr. Bollea’s body, there has been no evidence to indicate the death of Terry Bollea was anything other than natural,” investigators wrote in the report.

The report further stated that authorities found no evidence suggesting criminal activity or suspicious circumstances contributed to Hogan’s death.

Police and emergency personnel initially responded to Hogan’s home after receiving a call regarding a cardiac arrest. He was treated by Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel before being transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that morning.

The investigation included interviews with several individuals who were present around the time of Hogan’s death, including his occupational therapist, Justin McCamey. According to the report, McCamey initially raised concerns that Hogan may have suffered complications from a prior medical procedure and speculated that a surgeon may have damaged the wrestler’s phrenic nerve, which controls diaphragm function and plays a critical role in breathing.

However, investigators noted that McCamey later clarified he was not a medical specialist in that field and acknowledged he had been making assumptions based on information he had heard rather than personal medical knowledge. McCamey reportedly had only worked with Hogan for approximately two weeks before the wrestling legend’s death.

The report also noted that Hogan’s family had previously sought to preserve the option of pursuing a medical malpractice review by filing a legal petition extending the statute of limitations. However, the police investigation itself uncovered no evidence supporting criminal charges.

Clearwater police praised Hogan’s family for their cooperation throughout the investigation.

“Their willingness to allow our investigators access to very personal information, at a time when they were grieving and struggling, was extremely helpful,” the department said in a statement.

Hogan’s death came after years of significant health challenges. Friends and associates had previously stated that decades of professional wrestling had taken a severe physical toll on his body.

The wrestling icon had publicly discussed undergoing more than two dozen surgeries over the course of a decade, including multiple neck and back procedures, per the Daily Mail.

Beyond wrestling, Hogan became one of the most recognizable figures in American popular culture. He helped transform WWE into a global entertainment brand during the 1980s and became synonymous with “Hulkamania,” one of the most successful eras in professional wrestling history.

A six-time WWE champion and Hall of Fame inductee, Hogan headlined numerous WrestleMania events and faced some of the sport’s biggest stars, including Andre the Giant, Randy Savage and The Rock.

With the investigation now officially closed, authorities say there are no remaining questions regarding the cause of death, bringing finality to one of the most closely watched celebrity death investigations of the past year.
